CJ’s No-Flex Camera Ground Pod

No-flex, heavy-duty camera support for ground-level photography.

CJ’s No-Flex Ground Pod is a compact low-level camera support designed for stable ground-level photography, low-angle compositions, macro work, bird photography and wildlife photography.

It is especially useful when you want the camera close to the ground, on a stable surface, or positioned from a low vantage point where a standard tripod is too high or awkward.

Simply attach your ball head or gimbal to the 3/8″ stainless steel bolt and you’re ready to work from ground level.

Ground-level photography

The Ground Pod allows you to position your camera close to the ground for more controlled low-angle compositions. It is useful for birds, wildlife, macro, small scenes, textures and nature details.

Vehicle roof photography

The Ground Pod can also be used from the roof of a car or van when a stable low-profile support is needed. Place the Ground Pod on the vehicle roof, attach your ball head or gimbal, and photograph from this elevated vantage point.

Construction

Designed and manufactured in-house by CJ’s Vintage Cameras using robust PETG plastic.

The Ground Pod is built with thick outer walls, internal supports and reinforcing ribs to reduce flex and provide a stable base for camera and lens support.

Camera and lens compatibility

The Ground Pod can be used with any camera system when paired with a suitable ball head or gimbal.

A Canon R7 with a 100–400mm lens has been used successfully on this Ground Pod with a gimbal. Larger telephoto lenses may also be suitable, depending on the ball head or gimbal used and the way the setup is balanced.

A 3/8″ stainless steel bolt is recessed into the centre column of the Ground Pod, with a locking nut at the top. The bolt protrudes approximately 6mm from the top of the centre column, allowing secure attachment of a compatible ball head or gimbal.
